PCDC facilitated a brainstorming session on ‘Strategic Planning’ at the headquarters of ‘Human Appeal International’ (HAI) in Islamabad.

HAI is among the biggest charitable organizations in the world that was established in 1991. It is now present in 23 countries and providing services to thousands of communities affected by disaster and chronic poverty. In Pakistan, HAI started its operation in 2002.

Following 2005 earthquake, the organization expended its scope of activities to respond to emergency situations, early relief and rehabilitation, besides initiating various sustainable development projects to ameliorate the status of have-nots in the country.

Now HAI maintains a program presence in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, and Poonch (AJK), Manshera, Peshawar, Mardan and Battagram (KPK), Quetta, Mastung and Kharran ( Balochistan) & Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Faisalabad ( Punjab).

Senior management of the organization and key program staff participated in the session that lasted for almost three hours.

Aftab Iqbal (Director PCDC) while facilitating the session, asked the participants to put on their thinking caps and brainstorm with him about various challenges this country is facing. Later on, with the help of global and local analysis, he explained the environment HAI will be operating in the next few years.

Finally, he discussed the various essential elements for strategic planning at nonprofits. In the end, Nisar Ahmed (Country Director HAI-Pakistan) thanked PCDC for the session.
