We enjoyed the exuberance and enthusiasm of youth in Azad Kashmir, as they shared their stories of advocacy and struggle for rights. During the four training sessions on ‘Advocacy Skills’ at different locations, it was heartening to see that youth in Azad kashmir has already engaged itself proactively with local challenges to find innovative solutions.
Overall, around one hundred seventy young leaders from Muzaffarabad, Rawlakot, Mirpur, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan region participated in these two-day training workshops, as part of a British Council-funded project ‘Next Generation – Voices from the Valley’.
PCDC was invited to facilitate sessions on Advocacy Skills.
The participants learned about the importance of advocacy for development work, its types, characteristics and applications. Through interactive exercises like group work, discussion and presentations, they grasped the idea and applied it on real-life situations.
