CALL FOR PROPOSALS
South Asia Regional Project to Strengthen Community Resilience to COVID-19
As part of an EU-funded initiative, The Asia Foundation is implementing a project to address the immediate threat and longer-term implications of Covid-19 for the most vulnerable populations of Pakistan. The goal is to provide greater awareness of health risks and preventive measures, better access to support services, and greater responsiveness of public authorities to the voice and interests of the poor, women and girls and other marginalized populations.
The Foundation is looking for change-makers who are passionate to work on innovative solutions to create awareness of health risks and preventive measures to address the issues of marginalized people in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Core Areas
Proposal concepts should focus on one or more of the following areas:
- Best Practices – How can best practices to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and other health disasters such as mask-wearing and hand washing/sanitizing be promoted within communities.
- Impact of COVID on Education – COVID-19 has greatly impacted education with many students dropping out of school and college following lockdowns which led to the closure of academic institutions. What are some of the ways to tackle this challenge and encourage students to resume their education?
- Challenges for Transgender and other Vulnerable Populations – What are the kind of challenges faced by women, members of the transgender community, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and minorities as a result of the pandemic and what could be done to overcome these challenges?
- Impact on Environment – How has COVID-19 impacted the environment – how can positive impacts be sustained and negative outcomes minimized?
- Vaccine Hesitancy – People still seem hesitant to get vaccinated. Applicants would be expected to design innovative campaigns to promote vaccination as a key measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
